I have just delved back into University learning (my last subject before I graduate), and with that found the course materials for my eLearning subject I did two years ago. I’ve gone through almost all of it again and have found a lot of interesting links to readings. I’ve been sifting through some of them, finding ones I like, and some I don’t like, some I agree with, and some I don’t agree with.
I’ve created a new page, which you can access in the left hand column, or by clicking here, which has some of my favourites of these readings. I will be continually adding to it, so don’t forget to check back!
I found that in my eLearning course, that we were given a LOT of readings, and the more I think about it the more I think that this is a great way to share information easily to your students. It would have been terribly impractical for my lecturers to spend time creating slides, or videos explaining the theories behind each of the readings.
I do believe, however, that these readings should be complemented with forums where students can discuss what they’ve learnt, and connect with it in a variety of ways.
I have just done a video how-to on creating forums in Moodle, which will be in the next post, if you’re interested!

Hi Talia,
I was a co creator of the elearning manager Bb site. Colleen Cooling, Julie Fleming, Paul O’Neill and Bernie Walker-Gibbs were all part of the team that put that course together. Glad you enjoyed what we built.
Best,
Scot.
